September 28, 2011: Dr. Kannankeril attended the Board of Medicine Symposium at The George Washington University.

February 18, 2011: As Chair of the Advisory Committee on Naturopathic Medicine to the District's Board of Medicine, Dr. Kannankeril worked on legislation for and led the passing of the expanded scope of practice which allows prescriptive rights for licensed Naturopathic Physicians in the District. The changes proposed by Dr. Kannankeril were unanimously supported by the Board of Medicine and were passed and published into the DC Municipal Regulations.

May 6, 2010: Dr. Kannankeril testified at the DC Board of Pharmacy meeting regarding prescriptive rights for Naturopathic Physicians in Washington, DC.

November 18, 2009: Dr. Kannankeril gave a presentation to the DC Board of Medicine about Naturopathic Medicine

January 13, 2008: Dr. Kannankeril spoke about integrative medicine and women's health at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo in Washington, DC.
